Voltage doubling rectifier circuit is a special type of rectifier circuit, which can convert the input AC voltage into a higher DC voltage. Its principle is mainly based on the charge and discharge of capacitors and the single conduction characteristics of diodes.
In a voltage doubling rectifier circuit, multiple capacitors and diodes are usually included. When the positive half week of the AC power supply comes, a diode is switched on and the capacitor is charged. When the negative half week of the AC power supply comes, the other diode is switched on, and the previously charged capacitor is discharged while charging the other capacitor. In this way, by constantly charging and discharging, the lower AC voltage can be gradually accumulated into the higher DC voltage.
