Shangqiu is located in the easternmost part of Henan Province, at the junction of Henan, Anhui, Shandong and Jiangsu provinces. Suzhou and Huaibei of Anhui Province in the east, Kaifeng of Henan Province in the west, Heze of Shandong Province in the north, and Shangqiu of Bozhou in Anhui Province in the south, are strategic points connecting North China to East China and Jiangnan.
Shang Qiu is also a city with a thick history. The \"Shang\" of merchants and the \"Song\" of the Song Dynasty were born on the plain shaped by the Yellow River.
Shangqiu belongs to Henan Province.
The added value of the tertiary industry in Shangqiu was 128.88 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9%. The value added of the primary industry accounted for 14.7% of the GDP, the value added of the secondary industry accounted for 41.0%, and the value added of the tertiary industry accounted for 44.3%. The per capita GDP was 39,719 yuan, an increase of 7.1 percent over the previous year.
Shangqiu has jurisdiction over two districts, six counties and one county-level city. Two distinctions, the north of the Liang park, the south of the Suiyang district. The six counties are Minquan County in the northwest, Suixian County in the west, Ningling County in the west, Zecheng County in the southwest, Xiayi County in the southeast, and Yucheng County in the east.
